At least 11 people were killed in Colombia’s most southwestern municipality over the weekend amid a turf war between drug trafficking groups.
Defense Minister Diego Molano told press on Monday that eruption of violence was due to a conflict between “Frente Oliver Sinisterra” (FOS) and “Los Contadores” over who controls the coastal municipality in the Nariño province.

How many of the victims of the massacre would be assassinated civilians or members of the two different groups killed by their rivals was not immediately certain.

Savannah Tequila Co. Plant Riverside offers Mexican cuisine, tequila bar

The authentic flavors of Mexico are now being served at Plant Riverside's newest restaurant and bar, the Savannah Tequila Co.
The restaurant opening over Valentine's Day weekend — despite cold and wet weather — was a hit with about 450 customers on the second day of business, said Executive Sous Chef Shahin Afsharian.
Savannah Tequila Co. overlooks the Savannah River and is on the street level of the Three Muses building at Plant Riverside.
While the restaurant's location could attract lots of tourist traffic, hometown customers are also discovering the cantina-style space.
"Locals have been so excited," he added.
Afsharian has worked for about four years for the Kessler Collection, which owns Plant Riverside. He spent about two and half years, first as chef of the cooking school at the Mansion at Forsyth, and then began his new post at the JW Marriott at Plant Riverside. As an executive sous chef, Afsharian supervises all 10 restaurants at Plant Riverside.

Restaurants throughout the South Bay have modified their businesses to accommodate dining while also meeting LA County Health Department mandates for controlling the spread of the coronavirus. Currently this means they can fill take-out and delivery orders. Other restaurants are closing temporarily while considering options and waiting for updates from city, state and county governments.

The Strand House offers meals to laid-off workers
Just in time for Christmas, 1,000 families will receive free holiday meals to take home and enjoy. The meals are offered toÂ out-of-work South Bay restaurant employees by the owners at The Strand House, 117 Manhattan Beach Blvd. in Manhattan Beach. The packaged, to-go meals include roasted turkey breast, cornbread stuffing, mashed potatoes, garlicky green beans and more, including bread pudding for dessert.Â

Manhattan Beach based Skechers Corp. has initiated a fund aimed at helping local restaurants survive in the wake of COVID-19-related closures. The company will match up to $500,000 in donations made to the fund. Distributions will help the restaurants pay rent, manage operating costs and keep people employed. To make a tax-deductible donation, go online to about.skechers.com/skechers-foundation. Or, write a check payable to the Skechers Foundation with "Save Our Restaurants" in the memo line.
