The Toledo Area Polka Society (TAPS) is pleased to announce the 6th Annual Polish Summer Picnic, sponsored by Genoa Bank, June 18 and 19 at Oak Shade Grove Pavilion, 3624 Seaman Rd., Oregon. Hours are 5-11 p.m. Friday and noon-11 p.m. Saturday.
Setting attendance records each year, this authentic Polish picnic provides an entertaining venue for celebrating Polish heritage and culture. ....

NEW BREMEN – When U.S. Rep. Jim Jordan visited Elmwood Assisted Living of New Bremen on Tuesday, Kathy Hunt told him reform is needed in immigration and unemployment policies to address the healthcare industry’s worker shortage.
“Our healthcare workers are tired,” Hunt, the CEO of Elmwood Centers, said. “They’re very tired and have worked so tirelessly, and we just don’t have enough people. We’re hearing that that’s the same situation with just about every workforce.” ....

NEW BREMEN – When U.S. Rep. Jim Jordan visited Elmwood Assisted Living of New Bremen on Tuesday, Kathy Hunt told him reform is needed in immigration and unemployment policies to address the health care industry’s worker shortage.
