Started by Governor Greg Abbott in March, because somebody had to do something! The Texas National Guard, along with the Texas DPS have arrested 800 criminals, while confiscating all kinds of drugs, like 3,800 pounds of marijuana, and and 19 pounds of cocaine. Chris Cabrerra, a border patrol agent, as well as the vice president of the national border patrol council told KTRH that Operation Lone Star has made a difference. We re getting a lot of help from the state of Texas in general, whether it s DPS or the National Guard. This week, they spotted a child in the river drowning and they saved her life, so these guys are already making a big impact down here. ....

The gator, apparently not afraid of people, was considered a danger to children who walk to and from school near the creek. Parks and Wildlife officials said they planned to release the animal in a Brazoria County preserve. By Cliff Saunders Apr 19, 2021 As record numbers of migrants continue to cross the southern U.S. border, the Biden administration is taking a page out of the Trump playbook to get a handle on the situation. The White House recently announced new agreements with Mexico, Guatemala and Honduras for those nations to surge troops and resources to their borders, to stop migrants before they reach the U.S. President Trump had similar agreements in place, and they proved largely successful until President Biden undid them days after taking office. The move to enlist help from south of the border may be a tacit admission by Team Biden that at least one Trump policy was effective and worth keeping. But this Biden version of the plan is already raising doubts. Now some of her colleagues on commissioners court are questioning her metrics. “I would rather follow the advice of these folks that keep looking at it, that are not political at all,” Hidalgo said Tuesday. “I really hope I m wrong. I really do.
