A temporary shared path and altered traffic on Mount Maunganui s Marine Parade is out, while an analysis to extend the Marine Parade boardwalk is in.
At Tauranga City Council meeting yesterday, commissioners said the Innovating Streets at The Mount project did not have enough community support to go ahead.
The council decided not to undertake a trial involving a temporary shared path and altered traffic arrangements for the section of Marine Parade between Pacific Avenue and the Tay St intersection. ....

Vancouver, British Columbia (Newsfile Corp. - March 15, 2021) - Mark Jarvis, CEO of Shoal Point Energy Ltd. (CSE: SHP) announced today that Shoal Point and its partners have elected to plug and abandon their second well at the Mount Evans project in Kansas at a total depth of 4,360 feet.
We are disappointed by this dry hole, said Mr. Jarvis. Along with our partners, we will be evaluating the information to help decide what next steps, if any, we will undertake at the Mount Evans project.
Shoal Point has a 65% working interest in the project and privately held Shelby Resources has a 35% working interest. ....

SICILY, Italy (KOLD News 13) - Explosions from Mount Etna, Europe’s largest active volcano, sent a 2.5 mile-high plume smoke into the sky Friday.
The lava fountain originated from the south-eastern crater of Etna in the early morning and ended around noon, local time.
Thankfully, the lava flow did not threaten any villages and stopped at an altitude of 5,600 ft.
Etna is the largest of Italy’s three active volcanoes which also include Stromboli, on the Sicilian island of the same name, and Mt. Vesuvius near Naples, which last erupted in 1944. ....
