Ascension Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital has selected Dr. Pam Singer its 2020 Physician of the Year, Dr. Vlada Melekhin for a Clinical Excellence Award, and Dr. Joseph Little with the Olin Williams Distinguished Service Award. Singer has served as Family Medicine Department Chair and Quality of Care Committee Chair. She is also a faculty member for the UT Family Medicine Residency Program. Melekhin is a leader on the hospitalâs Infection Prevention Committee. Dr. Melekhin has played a key role in the hospitalâs response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Little has been a member of the medical staff since 1982. He has served in various leadership capacities, including the following hospital committees: Patient Care Evaluation, Clinical Monitoring, and Ethics.

Ascension Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital has named Doris Price director of its emergency department. Price (pictured) most recently served as director of critical care services for Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth, according to a release. In her six years with the state’s largest faith-based, nonprofit health system, she oversaw an emergency department, intensive care unit, catheterization laboratory, and trauma and dialysis services. The hospital underwent a multimillion-dollar ER expansion under her watch. Prior to that, Price spent five years in nursing and clinical leadership roles at Aurora Sinai Medical Center in Milwaukee. In addition to a doctoral degree from Chamberlain University College of Nursing in Addison, Illinois, Price holds master’s and bachelor’s degrees from Milwaukee’s Cardinal Stritch University. Murfreesboro Police detectives seek persons of interest in murder investigation Dec 11, 2020 at 07:23 pm by WGNS MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Murfreesboro Police Department (MPD) detectives are seeking the identities of two individuals who drove a shooting victim to the hospital and dropped him off, following a shoot-out and murder of another man on Friday, Dec. 4. Surveillance cameras at Ascension Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro captured the unidentified males carrying a 19-year-old victim, who was shot multiple times, into the hospital. The two individuals left before the police arrived. Detectives are hoping to speak to the pair, who are considered persons of interest, in the murder of 20-year-old Montavis Jones at the Campus Crossings Apartment on N. Rutherford Blvd. The two males could be in the Memphis area.
