Government is moving ahead with plans to provide housing solutions in low income housing.
Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley, who said Government was set to have a silent revolution in housing, also explained that Barbadians earning between BDS$2000 and $4000 per month, will also have access to affordable housing.
Mottley said in the next few months, the Government would like to announce to Barbadians that plans are being rolled out to make affordable houses, as low as BDS$90 000, available on the market.
“There is a category of persons in this country who does not earn BDS$2000 easily, or even if they do, does not earn it in a sustained way such that the bank or the credit union is going to take comfort in giving them a mortgage. ....

Barbados Port Inc., the state-owned corporation of the Port of Bridgetown, has officially rebranded as the port marked its 60th anniversary Thursday, declaring it is now positioning itself to become one of the world’s highest-rated green maritime ports, its CEO said.
David Jean-Marie made the comment as he addressed the unveiling of the new corporate identity and logo for the BPI at its Blue Cube headquarters on Thursday.
Jean-Marie said that the new corporate identity is in line with the BPI’s objectives of increasing its efficiency and capabilities to international standards. ....

University of Alberta Distinguished Professor and political scientist Andy Knight. -
Former director of the Institute of International Relations (IIR) at UWI, St Augustine and political scientist Prof Andy Knight has been named Distinguished Professor at the University of Alberta, a leading Canadian university.
Knight, a Barbadian by birth, discussed the recognition with Newsday in a WhatsApp exchange.
