BRYAN, TX â A Texas Department of Criminal Justice employee assigned to the Hamilton Unit in Bryan has died after contracting COVID-19.
57-year-old Correctional Lieutenant Treva Preston dedicated more than 16 years of service to the state and the TDCJ.
She was hospitalized at a Bryan hospital on January 4 after testing positive for COVID-19. She died in the early morning hours of January 15.
âTreva Preston is a prime example of someone choosing to serve,â said TDCJ Executive Director Bryan Collier. âShe was a training sergeant then Lieutenant who left a long-standing legacy at TDCJ. Minnesota Man Pleads Guilty to Providing Material Support to ISIS
The Justice Department today announced the guilty plea of Abdelhamid Al-Madioum, 24, to one count of providing material support and resources, namely personnel and services, to ISIS, a designated foreign terrorist organization.
Al-Madioum, a native of Morocco and naturalized U.S. citizen, previously had been detained overseas by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and was subsequently transferred into FBI custody and returned to Minnesota. Al-Madioum entered his guilty plea today before Judge Ann D. Montgomery in U.S. District Court in Minneapolis, Minnesota. A sentencing date will be scheduled at a later time. ....

YUMA, Ariz. – Yuma Sector Border Patrol agents assigned to the Yuma Station took custody of a Mexican national after he was seen climbing the border fence near the Andrade Port of Entry with a machete in his hand early Monday morning.
Yuma Sector BP agents apprehended an armed man illegally entering the U.S. near the Andrade Port of Entry Monday.
At approximately 5:20 a.m., the man was captured on Yuma Sector’s video surveillance system lingering on the south side of the vehicle fence near the port of entry. He continued to be monitored as he climbed the fence into the United States, all while holding a machete in his hand.
