A new program for global young leaders, initiated by Center for China and Globalization (CCG) and Academy of Contemporary China and World Studies, was launched in Beijing on Tuesday.
The newly launched Global Young Leaders Dialogue (GYLD) aims to develop a community to drive positive cross-cultural dialogue and communication for global opinion leaders from diverse regions, sectors, disciplines, cultures and professions, according to CCG, a leading Chinese non-government think tank. ....

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has appointed senior UN official Siddharth Chatterjee of India as the United Nations Resident Coordinator in China. Resident Coordinators are the UN Secretary-General s representatives for development at the country level.
They lead UN teams supporting countries to recover better from the COVID-19 pandemic through the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Guterres appointed Chatterjee as the Resident Coordinator in China, with the host government s approval.
Chatterjee s appointment follows confirmation from the Host Government, where he will take up his post in the middle of January of next year, Spokesman for the Secretary-General, Stephane Dujarric said on Tuesday as he made the announcement. UNITED NATIONS, Dec 16 2020 (IPS) - Siddharth Chatterjee, who has served with the United Nations for over 20 years, has been appointed as the new Resident Coordinator in China, the world’s second largest economy after the United States.
UN Spokesman Stephane Dujarric told reporters December 15 that his appointment follows confirmation from the Chinese government.
A product of Princeton, one of America’s prestigious Ivy League universities, Chatterjee, an Indian national and currently Resident Coordinator in Kenya, will take up his new post in the middle of January next year. ....

United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres has appointed Siddharth Chatterjee of India as the United Nations Resident Coordinator in China, with the host Government’s approval.
Mr. Chatterjee has more than 25 years of experience in international cooperation, sustainable development, humanitarian coordination and peace and security, which he has acquired at the United Nations and externally.
