Quite simply, the solar storm will be too weak and New Jersey too far south for Garden State residents to enjoy any of it, despite the buzz in some social media circles. “Frankly, I’m kind of annoyed that this storm is being blown out of proportion,” said Kevin Conod, the planetarium manager at Newark Museum and a member of the United Astronomy Clubs of New Jersey. “This is a level G3 geomagnetic storm (on a scale of 1 to 5). This is a decent storm so people up north (in places) such as upstate New York, Vermont and Maine will likely get a nice view tonight if it’s clear.”
