Unemployment: Reps urges FG to generate data bank for youths

The House of Representatives has urged the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development to collaborate with the Ministry of Labour and Employment to generate a data bank for youths in the country.
This followed the unanimous adoption of a motion by Rep. Uju Chima (APC-Imo) at the plenary on Tuesday in Abuja.
Moving the motion earlier, Chima who represents Ohaji/Egbema, Oguta and Oru West Federal Constituency of Imo, said the aim was to enhance the chances of youths to get empowerment and employment.
According to him, the population distribution chart of Nigeria indicates that youths, made up of graduates, undergraduates, artisans and other unemployed or unengaged, are not accurately captured in a data bank. ....

Stop linking Gov Buni to 2023 presidency - Aide warns social media influencers


Social media actors in Yobe State and elsewhere around the country have been warned to desist from linking Governor Mai Mala Buni with the 2023 presidency.
Isa Sanusi, Senior Special Assistant on Digital Media to the Governor gave the warning in a statement made available to newsmen on Tuesday.
“This is to inform all social media actors who make posts linking or associating our leader H.E. Hon. Mai Mala Buni with 2023 to please IMMEDIATELY remove such post and desist from such reckless posts.
“Making such a post is both unlawful and careless.
“Posts like ‘Daga Daura sai Buni’ are also uncalled for and should be removed”, the statement frowned. ....

Deputy Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Procurement, Hon. Uju Kingsley Chima has thrown his weight behind the clamour for Nigeria’s president of Igbo in 2023.
Chima said it would only be fair for the country to consider the zone that has not produced a president in the political equation.

The House of Representatives, on Tuesday, directed the office of the Accountant General of the Federation (AGF) to henceforth deduct water, electricity, and all other forms of utility bills (debts) owed companies and service providers by Ministries, Departments, and Agencies of government from the source.
The resolution was passed sequel to the adoption of a motion sponsored by Hon Kingsley Uju, who expressed grave concern over the huge debt accrued from non-payment of utilities provided to government agencies over the years. ....
