The new mass vaccination centre in Folkestone is now open and has started delivering Covid-19 jabs to Kent residents.
It has opened in the former Debenhams store, in Sandgate Road, which has been transformed into a medical centre fit to administer thousands of vaccinations each week.

It is the first large-scale coronavirus vaccination centre in the county, although more are expected to open in the coming months.

A large-scale vaccination centre is set to open in Folkestone, it has emerged.
The mass vaccine site is expected to open from Monday, although its exact location has yet to be revealed.
Damian Collins asks about a mass vaccination site for Kent
The centre will offer Covid-19 vaccines for thousands of people living in the Folkestone district, which also includes Hythe and Romney Marsh, but also to people living across east Kent.
The news was confirmed today in the House of Commons when MP for the district Damian Collins questioned Health Secretary Matt Hancock on the need for a mass vaccination centre in the county. ....

Two new vaccine centres are now open and delivering Covid-19 jabs to people in the Folkestone district.
The vaccination hub at the Civic Centre in Castle Hill Avenue - home of Folkestone and Hythe District Council (FHDC) - opened yesterday.

It is set up in the building s car park, not inside, and will be providing vaccinations for The New Surgery, Guildhall Street Surgery, Sandgate Road Surgery and Manor Clinic. ....

Residents in East Kent say that they are in an unacceptable position and being treated unfairly as their wait for a Covid-19 vaccine continues.
Pensioners in areas including Folkestone, Deal and Romney Marsh have been made to wait longer than anyone else in the county for large vaccine sites to open, despite being among the worst affected areas in England.

Subject to approval, the new hub could start delivering Covid-19 jabs to people living on Romney Marsh from next week.

But the location of the centre has left some residents fearful that pensioners would have to walk in the cold to reach it.
Tony Cooper, the chair of Ashford and Romney Marsh Breathe Easy group, said village halls would be better suited.
He said: âParishioners, residents and my members are looking to their local Parish and Town Councils to object to plans to use Lydd Airport on Romney Marsh as a vaccination hub for the vulnerable. ....
