HGTV’s Ford to deliver virtual commencement address at OU
Williams to deliver honors for graduate commencement
ATHENS, Ohio Leanne Ford, a 2003 Ohio University graduate, self-taught interior designer and co-host of Home Again with The Fords on HGTV, will deliver OHIO’s 2021 Undergraduate Spring Commencement virtual address on May 1-2.
The 2021 Graduate Spring Commencement Ceremony speaker on April 30 will be Dr. Susan Williams, who was named as the 2020 Outstanding Graduate Faculty Award winner. Dr. Williams has been a Professor of Anatomy in the Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine since 2003.
Ford, who earned a bachelor’s degree in specialized studies, had a successful career as a fashion stylist and creative director before gaining national attention after renovating a 1907 schoolhouse into a home in her hometown of Pittsburgh. ....

RACINE The mobile vaccine clinic scheduled for today in Racine has been canceled due to the pause in the Johnson and Johnson COVID-19 vaccine recommended by the CDC and FDA.
“With the CDC and FDA recommended pause of the Johnson and Johnson the vaccine the scheduled Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine’s Community Health Program clinic at the Racine Methodist Church today, April 13, 2021, will be canceled,” stated a news release from the Meigs County Health Department on Tuesday morning.
Ohio University has relayed to the Meigs County Health Department they will be in contact with the Ohio Department of Health about future clinics and as soon as information is available it will be released to the public. ....

Students Noël Gordon and Jalen Warren are co-presidents of Ohio University s chapter of the Minority Association of Pre-Health Students (MAPS).
Through an experience with Ohio University’s chapter of the national Minority Association of Pre-Health Students (MAPS), Noël Gordon found her passion for working with kids and insight into her career path.
Gordon collaborated with The Center for Family Safety and Healing, an organization inside Nationwide Children’s Hospital, to plan an event intended to teach pre-health students how to recognize Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) factors in children. Knowing these factors can allow medical professionals to identify potential abuse or neglect in a kids. ....
