WILMINGTON The Kiwanis Club of Wilmington recently reached a milestone of giving away 2,000 books through the Faith Lutheran Church’s food pantry.
Families served by the church food pantry also have access to an age-appropriate book their child may keep during the twice-per-month distribution. ....

Dover-New Philadelphia Kiwanis Club marks 100 years


The Dover-New Philadelphia Kiwanis Club will celebrate its 100th year of service to the community in 2021 by launching a project to provide new playground equipment for Deis Hill Park in Dover.
There are four shelters up there that have playground equipment from the 1960s, said the organization s president. Steve Handley. We are going to seek donations from the public and grants for that.
Cost of the project is around $15,000.
Checks can be made to the Ohio District Kiwanis Foundation at P.O. Box 103, New Philadelphia, OH 44663. Donations are tax deductible.
In the future, the club plans to fund a similar project in New Philadelphia.  ....

Kiwanis Foundation donates to playground project
LIMA The Ohio District Kiwanis Foundation, Inc. awarded the Allen County Board of Developmental Disabilities a grant for $2,500 to help with the purchase of a We-Saw for the All Ability Playground that is slated to be built in the spring of 2021.
The We-Saw is a teeter-totter built for four that can safely accommodate individuals with some mobility limitations.
This playground will be connected to the Ottawa Metro Park.

Ohio District Kiwanis Foundation donates to All-Abilities Playground


The Allen County Board of Developmental Disabilities is getting closer to building their second All-Abilities Playground in the County. The board received a $2,500 donation from the Ohio District Kiwanis Foundation at their meeting Tuesday. They also recently found out that the State of Ohio will be giving them $200,000 in the next capital budget. The board is just under $70,000 from reaching their goal of nearly $1.3 million. The first All-Abilities Playground opened this fall at Camp Robin Rogers and with each donation, they get closer to building a second special place for kids of all ages and disabilities.
“It has both a preschool and for older children and an adult section that will really be inclusive,” says Superintendent Theresa Schnipke. “It’s also going to have a memorial garden and a butterfly garden and an autism special area, where it s quieter and people can go off and do things on their own if the chaos is a little too much.” ....
