EUGENE, Ore. There was only one thing Eugene Emeralds catcher Robert Emery wanted to do after a day at preschool.
I was begging my dad to walk down the hall to Joe Dimaggio Park to play catch and have him hit me balls, Emery said.
The only problem was the park was all concrete. 
I kept coming home scuffed up and my mom was like hey you gotta find a different place to practice, Emery said. ....
