Bob Jones of Outrageous Outdoors in Jerseyville, like many gun store owners, wants to see the state’s Firearm Owners Identification Card, or FOID, system abolished. Long delays, sometimes of more than a year, and the existing national firearms instant check system are among the issues cited.
SPRINGFIELD Pandemic-exacerbated delays in processing firearm owner and concealed carry license applications are raising frustration and renewing calls by some to abolish or change a broken system.
Among thousands of bills introduced in the Illinois General Assembly, including several hundred specifically dealing with firearms, are a large number that would eliminate or modify the current system. ....

JERSEYVILLE A Florissant, Missouri, man faces felony charges after being accused of stealing a handgun from a sporting goods store.
Harold Pierce Jennings, 18, of Florissant was charged Feb. 4 with possession of stolen firearm and retail theft, both felonies.
According to court documents, Jennings is accused of taking a Glock-19 9mm handgun Feb. 2 from Outrageous Outdoors at 902 S. State St.
Bail was set at $50,000.

JERSEYVILLE A Florissant man faces several felony charges after allegedly stealing a handgun from a Jerseyville sporting goods store.
Harold Pierce Jennings, 18, was charged Feb. 4 with possession of stolen firearm, a Class 2 felony, and retail theft, a Class 3 felony.
According to court documents, on Feb. 2 Jennings allegedly took a Glock 19 9 mm handgun from Outrageous Outdoors, 902 S. State Street, Jerseyville.
Bail was set at $50,000.
Other recently-filed felony charges by the Jersey County State’s Attorney’s Office include:
• Corvis Deshon Johnson, 35, of Bel Ridge, Missouri, was charged Feb. 2 with obstructing justice, a Class 4 felony. According to court documents, on Jan. 22 Johnson allegedly refused to comply with a Jersey County search warrant and provide a DNA sample. Bail was set at $10,000. ....
