The French Directorate General for Armaments (DGA) has begun testing the prototype hull meant for the Navy’s future aircraft carrier PA-Ng.
“On March 29, Naval Group and Minister of the Armed Forces Florence Parly announced the launch of the preliminary design works of the new generation aircraft carrier. A prototype hull for the future PA-Ng is currently being tested by the DGA,”the French Navy tweeted Tuesday.
The nuclear-powered aircraft carrier (French acronym: PA-Ng) will have a length of 330m, a width of 80m, maximum speed of 27 knots (55kmph) and a displacement of 75,000 tons. The ship will be able to accommodate 2000 sailors and carry electromagnetic catapults. The first steel cut is set for 2025, while sea trials are slated to begin in 2036. ....

Peter Evans Chef Pty Ltd fined $79,920 for alleged unlawful advertising

The Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA), part of the Department of Health, has issued six infringement notices totalling $79,920 to Peter Evans Chef Pty Ltd. The TGA also issued a directions notice to the company and to sole Director, Peter Evans, to ensure the removal of the alleged non-compliant advertising.
Fines were issued to the company for the alleged advertising of therapeutic goods that were not, at the time of advertising, included in the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods (ARTG). These include the ‘BioCharger’ device, hyperbaric oxygen therapy chambers and two oral medicines.
Under the Therapeutic Goods Act 1989 (the Act), therapeutic goods, including medical devices and medicines, must be entered in the ARTG before they can be lawfully advertised in Australia, (unless a specific exemption, approval or authority applies). ....

Delivery and takeaway sales up fourfold in April on pre-Covid levels

Restaurant and pub groups recorded a fourfold increase in delivery and takeaway sales in April from pre-Covid-19 levels, CGA’s latest Hospitality at Home Tracker reveals.
According to the data, combined delivery and takeaway sales were 345% higher than in April 2019, when the sector was fully open for eating out.
Sales grew by 11% from March 2021, despite the reopening of restaurants, pubs and bars for outside service in England from mid-April. Month-on-month growth in takeaway sales was notably higher than in deliveries.

The figures from the Tracker suggest that deliveries, takeaways and at-home meal kits, which have all soared in popularity during the lockdowns of the last 14 months, are likely to remain a major part of consumers’ habits well beyond the full reopening of hospitality. ....
