William Lawrence Buff Crowell II departed on his last flight April 3, 2021, California, MD. Buff s life was filled with an abundance of love for his family, friends, and country.
Buff was born on June 26, 1956 to Albert and Ellen Crowell in New York City. He grew up in Westport, CT and after graduating from Staples High School in 1974 attended Massachusetts Maritime Academy in Buzzards Bay, MA. He graduated in 1980 with a B.S. in Marine Transportation. In 1981 he married Katy L Estrange, and they would have celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary this June 13th.
Buff was proud to be a Navy pilot. After graduating from the Massachusetts Maritime Academy, he went through Navy flight training in Pensacola, FL and Corpus Christi, TX. Upon earning his Wings of Gold he went to Little Rock, AR and attained his qualifications as a C-130 Hercules pilot. Buff then travelled to NAS Barbers Point, HI in 1982 where he joined the Ironmen of VQ-3 and flew the Navy s EC-130s sup ....

CHICAGO (Jan. 29) Many child abuse victims work hard to break the cycle of abuse as they grow into adulthood. For St. Petersburg, Florida, native Michael T. Fisher, breaking that cycle was contrasted with another family pattern.
Fisher knew he had to make life changes, so he joined the Navy, and currently he is assigned to Navy Talent Acquisition Group (NTAG) Great Lakes as a Yeoman First Class. He holds the positions of command career counselor and operations administration officer.
As a child, Fisher experienced the effects of being raised in an alcoholic abusive environment along with a period of homelessness. Fisher always had hope for more in life, and stories of naval service passed on to him from his grandfather and other family members inspired and led him to his current path. ....

Superintendent conducts 'Pass-in-Review' at Robertsdale High School

ROBERTSDALE, Alabama Cadets from Robertsdale and Elberta high schools celebrated their achievements and talked about the challenges of the past year as part of the annual “Pass-In-Review” conducted Wednesday, Dec. 9 at Robertsdale High School.
Because of travel restrictions, the annual inspection, which would have been conducted by new NJROTC Area 8 Commander Michael Mullen, was instead conducted by Baldwin County Schools Superintendent Eddie Tyler.
“On behalf of the Board of Education, I want to say how proud I am of this group of students,” Tyler said, “who have set and are already achieving their goals. They are a testament to their communities and a prime example of what is being accomplished here in Central Baldwin County.” ....
