Toms River man in mystery blue line case hit with shoplifting charge


Giordano’s truck had been locked away in storage for 313 days due to unpaid invoices owed on storage of the vehicle, police spokeswoman Jillian Messina said.
He was also charged with criminal mischief for allegedly painting the blue line in between double yellow lines that morning.
Surveillance led police to Giordano in all three cases, the most recent being the surveillance from the Home Depot, Messina said.

A Toms River man was charged Wednesday with painting a blue line on a township road when he was not permitted to do so, police said.
The move came days after Ocean County Sheriff Michael G. Mastronardy pitched the painting of a blue line down Hooper Avenue near the Ocean County Justice Complex, which includes the Ocean County Courthouse, according to a report by the Asbury Park Press. Ocean County Director Gary Quinn told the publication that while there was support for the idea from the Ocean County Board of Commissioners, its professional staff had advised against the sheriff’s proposal. ....
