DAP vows to back Perikatan bill to change status of Sarawak, Sabah

DAP has promised the support of its 42 MPs for any constitutional amendment bill the Perikatan Nasional government may table to restore the status of Sarawak and Sabah within the federation of Malaysia as stipulated in the Malaysia Agreement1963.
Party vice-chairman Chong Chieng Jen said their backing and that of the sole PKR Sarawak MP Dr Michael Teo and the government’s 112 lawmakers should add up to more than the two-thirds majority needed to amend the constitution.

For a long time sheep farmers have been the poor relation on the agricultural scene with prices most of the time being very disappointing and farmers with bigger numbers being the only real ones to benefit.
In the past year the trend has been much more positive with very few factory and butcher type lambs being sold for less than €100.
This figure is also a psychological barrier which needs to be broken for farmers to feel their product is worth producing.
Last Monday a new high was set with spring lambs making €211 and €209 respectively which is about €40 to €50 per head better than 2020 returns. The reason for these top returns is scarcity with trade being dictated by a supply and demand situation. ....

The high court has set dates at the end of the year to hear controversial preacher Zakir Naik’s defamation case against Penang Deputy Chief Minister II P. Ramasamy. – The Malaysian Insight file pic, April 2, 2021.
THE High Court in Kuala Lumpur today set December 20-22, 2021, and March 14-17, 2022, to hear two defamation suits filed by Zakir Naik against Penang Deputy Chief Minister II P. Ramasamy.
The suits, filed separately in October and December 2019, on the allegation that Ramasamy made defamatory statements involving the independent preacher, besides linking Zakir to the Tamil Tigers.

VALDOSTA – Valdosta Daily Times Editor Jim Zachary and reporter Bryce Ethridge won top honors in the 2020 Best of CNHI editorial contest.
Zachary and Ethridge won awards for columnist of the year.
Zachary, who in addition to being The Valdosta Daily Times editor is CNHI’s director of newsroom training and development and president emeritus of the Georgia First Amendment Foundation, won Division I columnist of year.
Ethridge is the government reporter with The Valdosta Daily Times. He won Division III columnist of the year for columns he wrote while working for The Moultrie Observer, a sister paper to The Valdosta Daily Times. ....
