Wythe, George (1726 or 1727–1806) – Encyclopedia Virginia

SUMMARY
George Wythe was a member of the House of Burgesses (1754–1755, 1758, 1761–1766) and the Conventions of 1776, 1787, 1788, a member of the Second Continental Congress during the American Revolution (1775–1783), Speaker of the House of Delegates (1777–1778), and judge of the High Court of Chancery (1778–1806). His signature is first among Virginians on the Declaration of Independence. Born in Elizabeth City County, Wythe was educated by his mother and read the law under the guidance of an uncle, eventually building a lucrative practice in Williamsburg, where he mentored a young Thomas Jefferson. He supported independence during the Revolution and served on a General Assembly committee with Jefferson and others charged with revising Virginia’s laws. In 1778, the assembly elected Wythe to serve on the newly created High Court of Chancery, where he stayed the rest of his life, even after receiving offers of seats on higher courts. WBSC confirm dates for postponed 2022 Men’s Softball World Cup

The Men’s Softball World Cup in 2022 will take place in Auckland from November 26 to December 4, the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) has announced.
The premier men s softball tournament had been due to be held in February before being delayed to next year as a result of COVID-19 safety precautions and international travel restrictions.
Softball New Zealand chief executive Tony Giles said the new dates provide certainty in what had been a very difficult 12 months.
We are looking forward to getting this tournament underway and are confident that, if the international borders open, it will be a huge success, he added. ....

Jean-Philippe Camboulives (FRA), has been appointed as Solidarity Director for the Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI), the global governing body for equestrian sports.
Already a well-known figure with National Federations and Continental Associations, Mr Camboulives, 55, will move into the role of Director after almost 10 years as Development Officer within the Department. He will take up his new position on 1 April, replacing Ms Jacqueline Braissant who will be retiring after 29 years of service with the FEI.
“It is an honour to be appointed as FEI Solidarity Director,” Jean-Philippe Camboulives said. “Together with the team in Lausanne, I am looking forward to building on the foundations that we have created together since the department was set up in 2011. Congress approval brings the membership to 91 countries
The World Flying Disc Federation (“WFDF”) is pleased to announce that its Congress has approved the Fédération Haïtienne de Flying Disc (FHFD), the Association Malienne de Flying Disc (AMFD), and the Federación del Disco Volador del Perú (FDVP) as its newest Member associations, increasing WFDF’s membership to 91 national member federations (NFs).
“To end this extreme difficult year 2020 by adding these three national member federations from Africa, the Caribbean, and South America to our membership does not only give a boost to our International Federation regarding our universality but also is a great sign of hope for our sport in difficult times,” commented WFDF President Robert “Nob” Rauch.
