Since the start of the pandemic, over 100 domestic dogs and cats have tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 in the United States. The first reported detection of the virus in a dog in Connecticut has been confirmed by Connecticut Veterinary Medical Diagnostic Laboratory (CVMDL) diagnosticians as a result of their surveillance for SARS-CoV-2 in dogs and cats.
