Credit Morehead State University The Morehead State University community is mourning the loss of retiree and professor emeritus Dr. Earle Louder, who died Wednesday, May 26, at age 88. Louder began his career at MSU in 1968 as a music professor, specializing in euphonium and tuba. In 1987, he was awarded the MSU Alumni Association s Distinguished Faculty Award and the Kentucky Music Education Association s Teacher of the Year Award, which he would win again the following year. In 1994, he was named a lifetime member of the International Tuba Euphonium Association (ITEA), of which he was a founding member. Louder retired in 1996 and was given the title of professor emeritus. In 1999, he received the Tubist Universal Brotherhood Association (TUBA) Lifetime Achievement Award. Most recently, he was awarded the prestigious Edwin Franko Goldman Citation in 2019, presented by the American Bandmasters Association in March 2020. ....
QUITE THE WHIRLWIND: 13-year-old Amaya talks newest role, life in Hollywood amid COVID-19 It s been quite the whirlwind for Brady Amaya, who moved to Los Angeles in 2018 to pursue a career as an actor and dancer. The Carleton-born 13-year-old has had guest spots on popular television series like Fox’s 9-1-1, ABC’s American Housewife, and NBC’s This Is Us. He’s appeared in theater, in commercials, and even on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. Amaya also dances regularly with the WNBA Los Angeles Sparks’ LA Sparkids Dance Team, and he’s also shown off his moves in several music videos. Owners St John’s College announced last month that the historic hostelry in St Giles was closing as takings have fallen due to repeated coronavirus lockdowns. Party members in the city are also highlighting the option of the pub being named an Asset of Community Value, which would give a community group the opportunity to buy the pub and ensure new owners needed planning permission for any change of use or demolition, if a long-term commercial solution can’t be found. ....
