AN Ellesmere Port pub will be reopening its doors for the first time in nearly five months on May 17. Unlike a number of pubs in the area, the Grace Arms on Stanney Lane did not open up its beer garden last month. However, it will be welcoming back customers now it can reopen indoors from Monday when the latest easing of Covid-19 lockdown restrictions comes into force. GREENE King has confirmed which of its Cheshire pubs will reopen outdoors from next month – but the list does not feature any in Chester and Ellesmere Port. The pub chain will reopen 28 of its managed pubs across the county from Monday, April 12, which includes The Bears Paw beer garden in Frodsham. A total of 442 pubs are being reopened outdoors in England by Greene King – amounting to just under a third of its managed pub estate. None of their managed Chester or Ellesmere Port pubs will be reopening next month. That includes Watergates Bar, George & Dragon, Bromfield Arms and The Peacock in Chester, as well as the Grace Arms in Ellesmere Port. ....
AN Ellesmere Port pub has applied for a licence to show films during the festive period. The Grace Arms on Stanney Lane has submitted an application to vary its existing premises licence which would allow it to screen movies over Christmas. Owners Greene King confirmed that the Grace Arms had put forward an application to show films over the festive period and that it was awaiting a decision from Cheshire West and Chester Council. The local authority states that people have until December 16 – when the consultation period ends – to have their say on the proposal. The application states that it is for a minor variation to the existing premises licence to add the licensable activity of exhibition of film . ....
