The Women and Girls Fund of Waukesha County (WGF) has elected five members to its Board of Directors. They are:

• Claire Beglinger of Waukesha, retired director of public relations at Carroll University. Prior to Carroll, she was the news editor at the Waukesha Freeman. A longtime member of the Christmas Clearing Council of Waukesha County Board of Directors, she also has volunteered for the Waukesha County Community Dental Clinic and WomenConnected.
• Lori Lorenz of Okauchee, executive vice president, chief administrative officer at American Transmission Co., responsible for human resources, safety, facilities and corporate communications. An active community volunteer, she serves on the Roger s Memorial Hospital Foundation board, Waukesha County Business Alliance Board, and the UW-Madison Center for Professional and Executive Development Advisory Board. ....

Mauldin residents grapple with potential impacts from proposed East Butler Rd plan

The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) hosted a public information meeting at the Mauldin Cultural Center, drawing about 50 people signed up for appointments, plus others who walked in to learn about the project and offer their input.
Some Mauldin residents at the meeting took issue with various aspects of the approximately $17 million plan, which aims to improve traffic flow along a 1.7-mile section of East Butler Road from North Main Street (U.S. 276) down to Brookbend Road and the Mauldin Senior Center entrance. ....
