The Kharghar Valley Golf Course witnessed an exciting golf tournament last week, the CIDCO Masters Cup 2021, on February 20. Olympic medallist Leander Paes was among the attendees, as were several golfers associated with prominent golf clubs. A police constable attached to Kharghar police station in Navi Mumbai was found dead at his home in the early hours of Tuesday. This comes two days after an assistant police inspector from APMC police station shot himself dead.
Santosh Namdev Patil (47), a resident of Saraswati CHS at Sector 12, Kharghar, was found dead on the ground floor of his two-storey house. “After dinner on Monday, he went to the room on the ground floor while his wife and two children were on the first floor. After some time when she went to call him, she found him dead. It was a case of suicide,” senior police inspector Shatrughna Mali from Kharghar police station said. ....

This is the second such incident in two days where cops ended their lives.
The constable has been identified as Santosh Patil (47). He hanged himself around 11:45 pm on Monday.
When the incident took place, his wife and two daughters were in the house.
Petrol price was increased by 29 paise per litre and diesel by 38 paise.
Another police constable from the same society he was residing in took him to Terna hospital. However, the doctors declared him dead.
He had been ill for the last few days, and therefore, was not reporting to the police station. His last rites will be performed in his hometown. ....
