PESHAWAR: The Young Doctors Association (YDA) has accused Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Minister Taimur Jhagra of ignoring private practice of the dean of Gajju Khan Medical College, Swabi. The YDA claimed that Dr Shamsur Rahman was running his private clinic in sheer violation of the Medical Teaching Institution Reforms Act 2015.
Under the law, a dean or a medical director, once selected in any Medical Teaching Institution (MTI), was not allowed to run private clinics outside respective institutions. In MTI, certain key position holders, including dean, medical and hospital director are paid heavy stipends up to Rs600,000 in addition to getting a brand new car and other privileges. ....

ABBOTTABAD: People’s Doctors Forum (PDF) will continue its struggle against undemocratic elements in the country and establish a prosperous, non-class society based on Islamic socialism in the light of the ideology of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto.
This was said by Prof Dr Nisar Khan, President, PDF at a press conference at his residence here on the day of martyrdom of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto on Sunday. “Benazir Bhutto had sacrificed her life for peace, democracy, social justice and rule of law in the country. Despite open threats from terrorists, she came to Pakistan and held public meetings to mobilise the general masses against military rule and militancy in the country,” he recalled. ....

KEMU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Khalid Masood Gondal in cooperation with KEMCA UK President Dr Muhammad Tufail and Secretary Dr Tabinda Dugal hosted the event, while Programme Director Dr Athar Saeed conducted the symposium on behalf of KEMCA UK.
