HAYWARD, Calif. (AP) A driver fleeing police struck several patrol cars and injured an officer before he was shot and killed Tuesday at a motel in the San Francisco Bay Area, police said.
Hayward police were investigating a dozen robberies in the Bay Area city since December involving elderly women who had used ATMs, Hayward Police Chief Toney Chaplin said at a news conference.
The thieves smashed in passenger windows and stole purses, and several victms were hurt, Chaplin said.
“Other jurisdictions throughout the Bay Area have experienced similar crimes during the same time frame,” the chief said. ....

The drama series starring Chiwetel Ejiofor was originally developed for Paramount Plus, née CBS All Access. The show’s segue to Showtime is the second half of the decision made last month to send “Halo,” the long-awaited adaptation of the popular Xbox video game, to Paramount Plus after it had been years in the making at the cabler.

The Anaheim, Calif. theme park and resort will start out with limited capacity, per state guidelines. Rides such as the new Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, the Incredicoaster and Peter Pan’s Flight will all reopen, the company announced in a blog post, and the new Fantasyland – Snow White’s Enchanted Wish attraction will also open for the first time. The newly developed Avengers Campus is not yet open.

On Aug. 6, 2016, Tyler Turner, an 18-year-old from Los Banos who had just graduated high school with a 4.3 grade point average, went skydiving for the first time to celebrate a friend s birthday.
Turner jumped in tandem with an instructor. The parachute did not open, and the two hit the ground with a fatal impact. Deputies found the bodies in a vineyard just south of the center’s landing zone. It was later revealed by the Sacramento Bee that the instructor reportedly did not have a proper license. ....
