Smith Sr. has announced his intention to resign from the position at the end of June. Smith has served as President and CEO since 2019, coming in the middle of the 2019-2020 United Way Annual Giving Campaign. Smith cites personal reasons for his decision. BATON ROUGE, La (press release) – The National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) announced a second round of major grant funding totaling more than $88 million in recommended grants to organizations in all 50 states and jurisdictions for Fiscal Year 2021.
