It has been a difficult time for unemployment in Wales, but there is hope on the horizon.
It is clear that support is needed, so Welsh Government has launched a new programme for people to access free training aimed at upskilling and boosting employability.
Personal Learning Accounts have been designed specifically for people who are currently on furlough, on a zero-hours contract, or whose job is at risk, providing they are 19 or over and earning under £26,000. ....

Pembrokeshire offers free courses for a chance of a different career


The Welsh Government is offering free courses to support people at risk of unemployment - targeting adults over 19 that are earning less than £26,000, and are either being furloughed or are on a zero hours contract.
These courses held at Pembrokeshire College and aim to create opportunities for people to retrain in finance, IT, engineering and other sectors. The only thing the candidates need do to be eligible for this course is set up a Personal Learning Account.
Thousands of people can apply for these courses and Minister for Education Kirsty Williams says it is a step towards a Welsh right to lifelong learning. Following on from this Ms Williams believes that the Personal Learning Accounts will keep track and encourage the development of Pembrokeshire learners. ....

Keir Starmer's plans to drag UK back into EU customs union if Labour in power exposed


He would consider models whereby we could be in some sort of customs union in the EU.
Keir Starmer won t say that in the near future I m sure but I m sure he may think about it in the longer run because the manufacturing industry would very much like to be in some sort of customs union with the EU.

Ministers in Scotland and Wales say they will work together to explore how students in their countries can benefit from the Erasmus exchange programme, despite the UK leaving due to Brexit.
The Scottish and Welsh governments say the proposed replacement for Erasmus falls short of what the EU programme offered.
The UK Government’s alternative – named the Turing Scheme after the codebreaker Alan Turing – will receive around £100 million in the next academic year.
Ministers in the devolved administrations say this “pales in comparison” to Erasmus, while Turing reduces support for colleges and schools. ....
