No official action was taken at a special meeting of the Hill County Board of Health Monday discussing the local mask order that was voted for last month.
Hill County Commissioner and Health Board Member Mark Peterson said Friday he called the meeting for members of the board to discuss the direction the county had taken regarding COVID-19, but did not say that they would specifically discuss the mandate or vote on anything. ....

The Hill County Board of Health voted 3-1 to implement a countywide mask order at a special meeting Wednesday after a long and occasionally heated discussion.
The order requires universal mask wearing except for children under the age of 5 - though 3- and 4-year-olds are still encouraged to wear masks - and other specific exemptions.
The order will remain in effect for 90 days, or until the county sees a per-capita spread of COVID-19 of 10 per 100,000 people or lower for two consecutive weeks, after which the board will review all other factors and determine whether the order is still n. ....

The Hill County Commission heard a request by Hill County Sanitarian Clay Vincent to move forward on a plan to expand RSID 10 to include properties that benefit from the Milk River Levee dike but don’t contribute to its maintenance.
At the commission’s weekly business meeting Thursday Vincent said these properties likely didn’t exist at the time the map showing the dike’s area of effect was created.

Hill County Public Health Director Kim Larson said a good chance exists that the recent rescinding of statewide public health mandates by Gov. Greg Gianforte will result in a surge in cases, but couldn’t speak to its severity and encouraged everyone to continue to be careful not to spread the virus.
Gianforte’s new mandate eliminated former Gov. Steve Bullocks requirement including on business capacity, that restaurants, bars, breweries, distilleries and casinos close by 10 p.m. and that public gatherings be limited to 25 people, but Gianforte kept mask requirements in place. ....
