BRIDGEPORT Have some ideas how the city should spend its share of the latest round of federal coronavirus relief?
The City Council on Monday formally accepted the $110 million allotted Connecticut’s largest city as part of the $1.9 trillion coronavirus rescue package the U.S. Congress and President Joe Biden approved earlier this year.
And while members of Bridgeport’s legislative body already have some ideas on what to do with the funds, a public hearing has been scheduled for 6 p.m. June 15, via teleconference to get more proposals. ....

The Webb County Commissioners Court meeting on Monday will be discussing topics regarding COVID-19 rental assistance, the procurement of additional computer equipment for the Sheriff’s office to target internet crimes against children and the continuation of the Veteran’s Treatment Program amongst other items.
For the COVID-19 rental assistance topic, the court highlighted the disastrous consequences that the pandemic has brought to the residents of Webb County, specifically the cost of housing and rent. They will be discussing an agreement with the National Association of Counties to request $425,388.70 from the U.S. Department of Treasury. ....
