Machinery issues resolved, 10,000 ton waste lifted: LWMC CEO

LAHORE:Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) has resolved all issues related to hiring of machinery after which more than 10,000 tons of waste was lifted. Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday regarding Zero Waste Operation in the city, CEO LWMC Imran Ali Sultan stated that all issues regarding machinery have been settled down. Till now more than 10,000 tons of waste has been lifted in an environment friendly manner whereas the operation was still underway.
He said that despite all the issues the department was working tirelessly to maintain cleanliness in the city. ‘In future LWMC will ensure more transparent system and citizens will not be disappointed in any case’. ....

The Fire Station: Artist in Residence, yesterday launched two exhibitions with diverse themes and works created using fresh mediums.
“Keep Running: AI, Art and Qatari Heritage” was unveiled at Gallery 3 while “Mohammed Atiq Al Dosari: Attention” opened at Gallery 4.
Dr. James She, an associate professor at Hamad Bin Khalifa University, shows that Artificial Intelligence (AI) can be used not only for technological advances but also for creative purposes like art through his works being showcased at the “Keep Running: AI, Art and Qatari Heritage” exhibition. ....

The network works closely with national and international ministries, authorities, institutes and business associations. Among other advantages, Vecoplan will receive support in exporting its recycling and waste management technologies and in knowledge transfer.

Kuehne + Nagel International signed (09-Mar-2021) an agreement to allocate a portion of the carbon reduction benefit American Airlines generates through its use of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) to Kuehne + Nagel.
