The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends masks in schools, but Arizona schools are barred from mask requirements
AAP recommended masks for everyone two and up on school campuses, regardless of whether they re vaccinated or not.

On Monday, the American Academy of Pediatrics said they’re now recommending everyone in school 2-years-old and above should be wearing a mask regardless of vaccination status.
But, that recommendation isn’t enforceable in Arizona schools because Governor Doug Ducey signed a bill into law that says school districts cannot enforce mask mandates. Arizona school districts are also prohibited from requiring students to receive the COVID-19 vaccine to participate in in-person learning. ....

TUCSON, Ariz. (KOLD News 13) -Even as Arizona fully reopens, some employers are having a hard time hiring.
The calls keep coming in at Avid Home Care near Prince Road and I-10. Seniors and those living with disabilities are seeking caregivers to help them stay in their homes, however, help is limited.
“We’ve continued to get more calls during the pandemic, we are protecting the most vulnerable population from this virus,” said owner, Vanessa McCally. “I turned two people down today. I had to say ‘no’ because I didn’t have enough people to help them.” ....

Latest Numbers on COVID-19 in Arizona, Yuma and La Paz Counties


Feb. 12 
The Arizona Department of Health Services reported 2,426 new cases of COVID-19 throughout the state and 172 additional deaths related to the virus. 
The state has administered 1,096,126 COVID vaccines to Arizonans. 
In Yuma County, 28,059 residents have received the vaccine. In La Paz County, 3,581 residents have received the vaccine. 
 
Feb. 11 
The Yuma County Health District reported 24 new cases today and 5 additional deaths related to COVID-19. 
It brings the total number of cases countywide to 35,907 and deaths to 750.
As of 8 a.m. Thursday, there were 60 patients hospitalized at Yuma Regional Medical Center and 26 in the intensive care unit. 
As of Jan. 24 the percentage of positive tests for Yuma County was at 16%. ....
