Montgomery County officials are considering reopening indoor dining at 25% capacity, but might limit each customer’s dining time to one hour.
A draft executive order County Executive Marc Elrich sent the County Council on Tuesday says the one-hour dining period for each customer would run from when they are seated until when they leave.
Restaurants would be required to keep a daily record of the date, time, name and contact information of at least one person in each dining party. The record would be kept for at least 30 days for contact tracing purposes. ....

Attorney and gubernatorial candidate Robin Ficker posted photos on his Facebook page last week of an event he held at the Clarksburg Tavern, showing a group eating inside a restaurant and not wearing masks.

Montgomery County health inspectors investigated at a Clarksburg restaurant last week after photos on social media showed a group eating inside the restaurant and not wearing masks at an event hosted by attorney and gubernatorial candidate Robin Ficker.
The Clarksburg Tavern, at 23315 Frederick Road, posted on Facebook on Jan. 1 that it was hosting a celebration on Jan. 5 called “USA THEMED PARTY.” The bottom of the invitation stated that the event was hosted by “Robin for Governor.” ....

Court hearing underway for fight against Montgomery County dining order

Clarksburg restaurateur files separate request for temporary restraining order

A hearing was underway Wednesday as dozens of Montgomery County restaurateurs seek to overturn Montgomery County’s executive order barring indoor dining.
Montgomery County Circuit Court Judge James Bonifant is hearing the case, and is expected to issue a ruling on Wednesday.
On Dec. 15, the County Council passed the indoor dining ban in response to the rising number of COVID-19 cases and deaths in the county. The order allows restaurants to serve through takeout, delivery and outdoor dining only. Heated tents are permitted if one side is left open. ....
