Nicholas Hunter, CEO of Fiber Capital Partners, announces a countywide initiative to bring broadband internet access to Belmont County in the next few years.
ST. CLAIRSVILLE Broadband internet may be coming to Belmont County soon, with the announcement that a fiber company and provider will be installing infrastructure.

The total investment is about $9,500,000.
MPR officials are eager to get started.
“In the early 1900s rail was abundant in the industrial town, Bellaire, Ohio. MPR is excited to expand its services and bring the rail back to Bellaire. We appreciate ORDC’s support as we grow our business, create more jobs in Belmont County, and offer cost saving opportunities to eastern Ohio companies for inbound and outbound multi-mode transloading including rail, river and truck,” Natalie Brown, preside ....

But Dan Williamson, Columbus-based spokesman for PTTGC America, denied the report, citing other accounts of the same conversation that did not indicate Kongkrapan made such an announcement.
“The story is just not true,” Williamson said, referring to the CEO with a moniker used by many associated with the project. “Dr. K did not say that. … As I understand it, he’s committing to a midyear announcement.” ....
