Spectator warning to Tyrone clubs - Highland Radio - Latest Donegal News and Sport


Club action returns in the county of Tyrone this weekend with a number of competitions still to be completed from last year.
Matches get underway on Friday evening with the big game of the weekend on Saturday afternoon at Drumragh when Carrickmore play Omagh in the County Minor Final.
Ahead of the games, Tyrone GAA have strongly reminded clubs involved of the importance of full compliance with existing restrictive guidelines and directives.
All games must be played behind closed gates and no spectators are allowed.
The CCC say that if any spectators gain admission to a Club s ground, they will not permit the game to commence, or allow it to continue, if such a breach occurs during a game. ....

Taoiseach says 'brighter days' coming as 19% of population receive first dose

MICHEAL Martin hailed the delivery of Ireland’s one millionth vaccine, as he promised: “Brighter days are coming.”

Monaghan GAA suspend Seamus McEnaney for 12-weeks over training breach

Monaghan senior football manager Seamus McEnaney has been handed a three month ban by his own county board after admitting a serious error if judgement regarding Covid-19 regulations.
Today’s Irish Independent reported that they had been supplied with photographs and video which showed Monaghan county footballers in collective training at the end of March.
Following the news Monaghan GAA investigated the matter and issued a statement in which they ‘will fully cooperate and comply with any Croke Park investigation.’

Monaghan GAA manager suspended over coronavirus training breach


In a statement, Monaghan GAA has acknowledged the breach of COVID-19 regulations by the team.
It said McEnaney had admitted that holding the session was a “serious error of judgment” and had apologised unreservedly.
“The County Management Committee has suspended the Monaghan GAA Senior Football manager, Seamus McEnaney for 12 weeks with immediate effect and will fully cooperate and comply with any Croke Park investigation,” it said.
The Irish Independent reports that the training session took place on the last weekend in March.
Senior players will officially be permitted to return to training on April 19th, under  ....

Meath legend Sean Boylan says he is 'baffled' by Dublin breaking the GAA's training ban


He said: “I don’t want to be tearing people down.
“But it baffles me what they did. Maybe I’m saying that as someone who suffered with Covid last year. And it is such a thief. It really is.
“I lost 10 kilos in six days and developed pneumonia so I’m very thankful and blessed to have made a great recovery.
“I can understand the boredom and the feeling of wanting to get out but this really shocked me.”
INTERNAL PUNISHMENT
Dublin GAA have acknowledged that it was a serious error of judgement and have dished out a 12-week ban to manager Dessie Farrell even though he was not present at the session. ....
