BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) - It’s not an easy process to sign up for a vaccine and schedule an appointment yet, and that means people are trying to sign up multiple places and get in as soon as they can.
If you get the vaccine at one location, the other facilities hope you can take the time to cancel the appointments with them so they can free up spaces.
With so many different vaccine providers including retail stores, health departments and other facilities, many people are singing up on any list they can. When they receive an appointment, they may not think to remove themselves from a list or cancel other appointments, leading to filled slots that could have gone to other people. If you register at DCH, you can just email them, and CVS, Walmart, Cahaba Health and others ....

Ketrice Burrell sits in her car in the parking lot of the local Family Dollar store, one of the only businesses in Uniontown. She chats through the driver-seat window with friends who pass by. Burrell was scheduled to get a vaccine at a clinic down the street earlier in the day.
“I just changed my mind about it,” she said laughing. “My aunt is a nurse in Detroit,” “I called her to ask what she thought. She wasn’t for it.” ....

Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with runners from all 50 states and around the world. Complete each distance one at a time or, if you’re feeling lucky, complete all 4 miles. Either way, wear your finest St. Patrick’s Day attire and have fun. The virtual event can be completed through Wednesday, March 31.
