Summer has not even started in the US and already the nation is seeing another major wildfire, this time in Arizona.
Dubbed the Spur Fire, the blaze hit the copper-mining town of Bagdad just as it was experiencing 80 degree days this week. The Yavapai County Sheriff s Office began the immediate evacuation of the town s 1,500 people as the wildfire began to cause massive property damage. ....

The Key To Containing Wildfires Will Be Human Behavior
Utah fire and elected officials are asking residents to change their outdoor behavior to cut down on human-caused wildfires. The request comes after a spike in the number of events started by people. So far this year there have been 227 fires in Utah that have burned 8,400 acres. All but eight of them have been human-caused. This year is already well above average in the number of starts and acres burned compared to the last five years. Officials are asking people to be careful near dry vegetation when dealing with things like campfires, debris burning and fireworks. ....

The Similkameen has been a wildfire hotspot over the past two days.
Kamloops Fire Centre fire information officer Kayla Pepper says wildfire personnel assisted the Keremeos Fire Department yesterday afternoon, May 24, after a structure fire spread to nearby brush on VLA Road in Cawston.
The fire is classified as under control today, after reaching a size of 0.6 ha.
Wildfire personnel are also on scene at a second blaze this afternoon, May 25.
The Knighthawk wildfire is estimated at 0.8 ha in size and is classified as out of control.
Seven personnel are fighting the blaze with 10 more on the way. ....
