Virtual open house set for Heritage Point affordable housing complex

The Community Housing Development Corporation and Contra Costa County Supervisor John Gioia will host a long-awaited “Grand Open House for Heritage Point” Tuesday, July 20 at 11 a.m. The Zoom meeting will introduce the affordable housing complex located at 1540 Fred Jackson Way in North Richmond.
Completed in 2019, Heritage Point is a four story building featuring 42 affordable, multifamily rental apartment units. Its Grand Opening was reportedly postponed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
“We are proud of Heritage Point, which includes 12 one bedroom, one bath units, 17 two bedroom, 1 bath units, and 13 three bedroom, 2 bath units, including mobility accessible units, and are ready to celebrate its impact to our North Richmond community,” event organizers said in a post on eventbrite.com. ....

Contra Costa County Vaccines go Mobile, Travel to Senior Housing Complex

“I really think it’s a miracle I’m alive. I really do,” said Judy Haverty.
The 84-year-old said she’s been living in fear in her Bay Point apartment since the pandemic hit.
“My family will call me up to see if I’m still alive,” said Haberty.
Thankfully, Contra Costa County’s mobile unit team set up a mini vaccination clinic Thursday morning at Casa Serena.
“Transportation is more difficult for me so it’s wonderful to have it right here,” said Haverty.
The county’s mobile teams have vaccinated nearly 35,000 seniors and caregivers in at risk communities so far ....
