London – The creation of climate-smart farms not only got Grenadian Bevon Chadel Charles the attention of the Commonwealth but earned her an award at the Commonwealth Youth Awards this year.
Two other regional youth – Dr Camir Ricketts and Brent Alexander Scotland – have stood out as COVID-19 heroes for their efforts in addressing the challenges posed by the pandemic in their communities.
The annual Commonwealth Youth Awards recognise the contributions of young people whose projects are transforming lives in their communities and helping achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Catching up with Forbes 30 under 30 Honourees from Bangladesh

Raba Khan was featured in the Forbes 30 under 30 Asia list, under the category, Media, Marketing & Advertising in 2020. Mostly known for her satirical videos, she is the youngest person from Bangladesh to be recognised by Forbes. As a testimony to her influence, UNICEF selected Raba as a Youth Ambassador to advocate for children s rights in November 2018.
Apart from being busy with producing engaging content for her audience, her own personal projects and brand involvements, Raba is busy with her responsibilities as a Youth Ambassador for UNICEF. She plans to focus more on her projects with children in the upcoming years.

Barbadian youth leader Taahir Bulbulia is among 20 people from 18 countries who are finalists for this year’s Commonwealth Youth Awards.
The awards recognise outstanding young people in the Commonwealth whose projects are transforming lives in their communities and helping to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Bulbulia is founder of the Sports Science Society, a student-based organisation that promotes the holistic benefits of sport and provides mentorship to at-risk youth on mental health, sports law and drug prevention. The programme has trained 30 volunteers across 10 organisations and reached 500 young people in the region, particularly helping to tackle bullying and mental health issues. ....
