Gov. Parson Accuses Missouri House GOP Leaders Of Trying To Embarrass Him

House Republican leadership could not be immediately reached for comment on the governor’s letter.
The night before his scheduled address, Parson notes in his letter, a House committee met in a crowded hearing room packed with witnesses and legislators.
“I could not understand why House leadership would condone such an unsafe hearing while preventing the State of the State from moving forward,” Parson wrote, “as we had taken every precautionary measure to limit unnecessary attendance, ensure social distancing and provide overflow viewing areas.”
Parson says he was informed Wednesday morning that he could deliver his speech to an empty House chamber, with his address live streamed for remote viewing. ....

Missouri’s state budget director will testify Monday morning in Jefferson City about a proposed supplemental budget. Budget director Dan Haug will summarize a 124-page report, and we’ll learn the final details about the total amount of the supplemental at that time.

TYLER, Texas (KLTV) - Two East Texas men who joined the U.S. Capitol Building riot Jan. 6 were ordered to be detained until trial.
Magistrate Judge K. Nicole Mitchell handed down the ruling Friday evening after hours of testimony by and cross examination of witnesses regarding the actions of Ryan Nichols, 30, of Longview, and Alex Kirk Harkrider, 33, of Carthage during the siege of the U.S. Capitol Building in Washington, D.C. ....

But Numidians were not content to always dwell in the shadow of Carthage. Their independence soon became prominent, and a strong, prosperous kingdom was about to emerge. Polybius, the crucial ancient Greek historian, was amongst the first to write about Numidia.
Around 200 BC, he mentions them as the peoples who live to the west of Carthage, in a territory that roughly corresponds to modern day Algeria. The name Numidians allegedly stems from the ancient Greek word for “nomads” (Νομάδες). The Latin interpretation of this word became “Numidae,” from which emerged the exonym we know today: Numidia. ....
