Apr 1, 2021 A roller coaster rider in Tennessee is recovering after being thrown off a ride. On Monday, the unidentified individual was ejected while riding the Gatlinburg Mountain Coaster. The person was bumped from the ride as it was making a turn. They then landed on the tracks and sustained head, wrist and ankle injuries. CNN reports that the attraction reopened on Tuesday following an inspection performed by a third-party. ....
Apr 1, 2021 British authorities say a convicted pedophile is dead after choking on his breakfast. John McKno was serving a 14-year sentence for sexually assaulting five students while working as a boarding school teacher. McKno apparently had his typical breakfast at Norwich Prison before choking and going into cardiac failure. The 74-year-old had a variety of health conditions as well. ....

Each year, the company hosts a Best of competition recognizing those reporters, photographers, and staff who work tirelessly bringing news to their communities. London, KY, USA / SAM 103.9 FM WWEL | Today s Pop Hits Apr 1, 2021 11:05 AM Knox County officials were recently told by the Kentucky State Fire Commission that the commission no longer recognizes Stinking Creek Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department as a fire department. Knox County Judge-Executive Mike Mitchell says that means their official tags are no good, CDL exemption to operate those trucks is no longer enforced and they’re no longer eligible for funding. This left the community of Stinking Creek without fire service. Judge-Executive Mitchell declared a local state of emergency due to public safety. Mitchell said there is an on-going investigation into how the fire department was handled. He said he cannot comment on further details. The local State of Emergency states the East Knox Volunteer Fire Department will pick up Stinking Creek’s 911 calls. Mitchell says the local State of Emergency remains in effect until the problem is resolved. ....
