The USDA Is Set To Give Black Farmers Debt Relief. They’ve Heard That One Before
By Emma Hurt

Farmers of color are set to get some unprecedented debt relief starting this month from the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The latest federal COVID aid package includes an estimated $4 billion for the USDA to wipe away these farmers’ debts.
It’s an unprecedented Congressional mandate to make up for the damage that decades of lending discrimination has had on farmers of color. The distrust runs so deep that the department has been dubbed “the last plantation.”

Academy graduate partner in draw win

WINNER: Carl Parker’s cheque
Another Winning Wednesday, another lucky person walking away with an extra £2,000 in their bank! Last week’s winner of the Made in Bury Weekly £2,000 Draw was Carl Parker with ticket number 21749.
Carl has been in the draw since January 2020 and bought his ticket because his fiancée Jessica was a member of the Made in Bury Business Academy with her business Wing Cleaning.
Carl has seen how beneficial structured training and mentoring can be to a new start-up business with Jessica being part of the Academy and seen what the money from the draw goes towards.
