SUFFOLK, Va. - Crews responded to the scene of a single vehicle crash involving an overturned tractor trailer Monday morning around 1:45 a.m.
The crash happened in the 4100 block of Godwin Boulevard.
The truck was carrying livestock at the time of the crash.
Officials said the driver of the truck had minor injuries and received emergency medical assessment and treatment at the scene by Suffolk Fire & Rescue personnel.
​Cleanup efforts were underway and the roadway was closed. The roadway was reopened around 8:30 a.m. ....

Veterinary hospitals and clinics have experienced an influx of appointments since the start of the pandemic.
San Luis Obispo County Veterinarians said they’re having to backlog appointments because there has been an increase of new pet owners during the pandemic.
At Animal Care Clinic in San Luis Obispo, they’re seeing a 50% increase in pet owners coming in for appointments as people pay more attention to the health of their animals while working form home.
“What we’re seeing even more than an increased number of visits is clients wanting to do more for their pets. They’re wanting to go further with diagnostics and treatment,” Medical Director of Animal Care Clinic Dr. Bonnie Markoff said. ....

Thailand to restrict cattle, buffalo movements amid animal skin disease outbreak

BANGKOK (Reuters) - Thailand has ordered strict controls on the movement of cattle and buffaloes after an outbreak of an a virus that causes lumps to form on the animals’ skin and can reduce milk production, a government official said on Sunday.
The rarely-fatal disease, which does not affect people and is thought to be spread by flies or mosquitoes, is new in Thailand and has already infected more than 6,700 cows and buffaloes in 35 provinces across the country, according to government deputy spokeswoman Traisulee Traisaranakul.
“The prime minister is concerned about the smuggling of cattle and buffaloes from neighbouring countries, which is an important factor in the spread of the disease, as well as unsanctioned domestic movement,” Traisulee said. ....
