Castello del Poggio, the Piedmontese label behind America’s favorite Italian Moscato and sweet red, has undergone a stylish new makeover as the Zonin-owned brand prepares to hit the million-case mark in the U.S. in 2021.
“Depletions in 2020 were up +30% over the previous year,” reports Shawn Balzano, national sales director at 1821 Fine Wine & Spirits, the Zonin family’s U.S. import arm.
In addition to its best-selling Moscato, the Castello del Poggio line-up includes a DOCG Moscato d’Asti, a new delle Venezie DOC Pinot Grigio, Extra Dry Prosecco, Rosé and two red blends: Templar’s Red and Smooth Red which has experienced more than 50% growth in the U.S. over the course of 2020. ....

A rebrand by drinks design specialist Denomination elevates this Italian winery s position in the US market.

Australian drinks design studio Denomination has given a revamp to Italian wine brand Castello del Poggio in a bid to improve its US market position.
The brand s owner Zonin1821 - the largest private vine-growing and winemaking company in Italy - approached Denomination looking for a design refresh that could help it compete with challenger brands in the sweet wine and Italian sectors in North America.
To achieve the goal, Denomination worked to highlight Castello del Poggio s genuine Italian heritage - a marketing strategy that has proven effective among US consumers.
