TEMECULA, Calif., Feb. 10, 2021 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) Nikkiso Cryogenic Industries Clean Energy & Industrial Gases Group (CE&IG), a subsidiary of Nikkiso Co., Ltd (Japan), announces their Pump Unit has acquired the intellectual property (IP) to manufacture and assemble electric-mechanical actuators (EMA) and the associated control panels.
The high force EMA coupled to a cryogenic reciprocating pump eliminates the need for a gearbox and crankcase, which provides a compact layout for vertical submerged pump design. The EMA also provides complete control of the reciprocating pump s piston speed and position, allowing for a wider turndown range, pulsation-free operation for multiple unit arrangements, and enhanced reliability. ....

Ground tests of the world’s first electric hybrid aircraft engine based on a superconducting system has commenced in Chaplygin in Novosibirsk, Russia.
Following the successful ground tests, a flying laboratory based on the Yak-40 aircraft will be created, according to the General Director of the Research Center Zhukovsky, Andrey Dutov.
The General Director added that such aircraft should commence flying around 2030. The engine has no comparables in the world, and representatives of Airbus and Siemens approached the institute with a proposal for cooperation. ....

Nikkiso Cryogenic Industries’ Clean Energy and Industrial Gases Group, a part of Nikkiso Co., Ltd (Japan), has announced the sale of its Turboexpander Business Line to Air Liquide.
Located mainly in Santa Ana, California, the Turboexpander Business Line designs, manufactures, and sells Turboexpanders within the industrial gas industry, as well as the natural gas liquefaction industry.
Air Liquide has been the largest customer of the Nikkiso Group’s Turboexpander Business Line.
Nikkiso’s Cryogenic Service (NCS) unit will remain an authorised service company and will continue to provide Aftermarket Services, including repair and servicing of ACD designed and built Turboexpander machines, while Air Liquide will provide service activities to its plants and its third-party plants customers. This arrangement will guarantee all ACD service clients will continue to receive strong support going forward. ....
