MUNCIE, Ind. A defiant Brady Allen Turner was sentenced Wednesday to 60 years in prison for fatally stabbing an acquaintance.
I m here today to tell you I will maintain my innocence until the day I die, the 27-year-old Muncie man told Delaware Circuit Court 4 Judge John Feick, who imposed the prison term.
The victim suffered a fatal stab wound in the throat while fighting with Turner on East 15th Street.
While testifying at the trial, Turner maintained that he had acted in self defense, saying Burgess during earlier confrontations had threatened him and fired a gun at him. ....

MUNCIE, Ind. A Muncie resident testified Thursday that a man he fatally stabbed had earlier shot and threatened him.
Brady Allen Turner, 27, is charged with murder in the September 2018 stabbing death of Chris Eugene Burgess Jr.
City police said the 27-year-old Burgess was mortally wounded as he fought with Turner on East 15th Street. Testimony at this week s Delaware Circuit Court 4 trial indicated a knife wound in his throat resulted in the victim s jugular vein being severed.
Turner called to the stand by defense attorney Tony Sisson on Thursday described a deteriorating relationship with Burgess, with whom he had been acquainted for a few weeks. ....
