The fire at a tower block with flammable cladding in Tower Hamlets last week was a stark reminder that we have still not made buildings safe four years after the Grenfell disaster. This is shameful.
Last month, I joined an important meeting organised by the Brent and Camden cladding action group with many residents in Hampstead and Kilburn who have faced a living nightmare as a result of the cladding scandal. It was truly heart-breaking to hear the stories of people whose lives have been turned upside down and who are still trapped in unsafe buildings they cannot sell. ....

THE MP of Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe has called for the Government to stand up to Iran and bring her constituent home following her further jail sentence.
The mother of one was handed a fresh prison term of one year and a year-long travel ban in Iran on Monday, which her husband Richard has described as “open-ended detention”.

The coronavirus crisis has engulfed our lives and dominated politics for the last year, but we must not forget the other crisis that threatens our very existence - the climate and ecological emergency.
I recently had the pleasure of hosting a virtual meeting with over 100 people from Hampstead and Kilburn to discuss the urgent need to tackle climate change. It was encouraging to see such high levels of attendance – including from climate groups in Brent – which is a sign of how important this issue is both to our local community and the future of the planet. ....
