Riverfest set for September, looking for vendors, entertainers, artists

CLARKSVILLE, TN – The City of Clarksville’s 33rd annual Riverfest will return to an in-person event Sept. 9-11. Applications for vendors, entertainers, artists and more are being accepted at ClarksvilleRiverfest.com through June 11.
Riverfest is Clarksville’s longest-running community festival and brings more than 30,000 people to the banks of the Cumberland River in an arts and music celebration. Music, art, family events, and more will fill Liberty Park on Sept. 9 for the Riverfest Juried Art Show, and McGregor Park on Sept. 10-11. Admission and entertainment at the festival are free and open to the public.

Movies in the Park to return, starting with 'The Rise of Skywalker'

CLARKSVILLE, TN – Clarksville Parks & Recreation has announced the return of Movies in the Park, presented by Kyrstin Frate of Keller Williams Realty. The popular event series is set to feature a movie each month at dusk from May through September.
Last year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, each event was held at Liberty Park. This year, the event will include Heritage Park once again in its lineup.
Kali Mayes, event planning specialist with Clarksville Parks & Recreation, said this season is primed to be one of the best.
“Movies in the Park was one of the events we were able to offer safely in 2020,” Mayes said. “We’re excited this year the event will return to multiple locations and even more normalcy with pre-show activities, food trucks, and more. We encourage everyone to follow our Facebook event page for the most up to date information about Movies in the Park.” ....

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – As Clarksville Now embarks on its 11th year covering local news, the reporting team has grown to include seven journalists: The editor, three news reporters, a marketing specialist, a news clerk/video journalist and a sports reporter.
Here’s an introduction to each member of the team and what they do to serve our readers.
Chris Smith, Clarksville Now Editor-in-Chief
Chris Smith is the editor-in-chief of Clarksville Now and joined the team in July 2020.
Smith is originally from Athens, Alabama, and spent half of his childhood in Haddon Township, New Jersey. He began his journalism career after getting his master’s degree in English at Auburn University. ....
