Low, warm waters a concern for anglers setting up for start of salmon season

Many prime Newfoundland salmon rivers are in areas that are in Alert Level 4, but the president of the Salmonid Association of Eastern Newfoundland says it will be a couple of weeks before the fish really start coming into the area.(Submitted by Ralph Hiscock)
With salmon angling season beginning next week on the island, there are already concerns about the effect that the mild winter and spring is having on the province s rivers. 
Angling season runs June 1 to Sept. 7 on the island and June 15 to Sept. 15 in Labrador. Salmon licences can be bought at gas stations, convenience stores and major chain stores throughout the province, and must be signed in order to be valid. ....

February is celebrated as Black History Month and this February, the
Anglican Journal makes note of that tradition by turning its attention to Black and African Christians inside and outside of the Anglican Church of Canada.

Avalon, Burin peninsulas receive first significant snowfall of 2021
Meteorologist Savio Paul said the majority of southeastern Newfoundland has seen anywhere from five to 15 centimetres of snow, with some of the highest amounts falling on the Burin Peninsula.
